A year ago I'd never done yoga. Yoga is for bendy people, right? Wrong! Yoga is for everyone. And as a bonus, you'll become more bendy! "I don't do stretching..." My yoga journey started due to an injury. I was due to run my first half marathon in 5 weeks and in my determination to get my long runs in, I'd made the mistake of running on a "niggle", which turned into "I now can't walk". I seem to remember looking in desperation at the training plan that I'd printed (I think from the BHF website) and seeing "stretching/yoga" as a suggestion for some rest days. Now...I'd always been pretty scornful of stretching, and you may be too. I'd never done it, and I'd certainly never tried yoga. Starting Out My first try at yoga was via the NHS website, and later that day I did a little Googling and found "Yoga with Adriene" on YouTube. That was me hooked. I did some every day. Not just that but, having been in agony for a week and a half, my injury miraculously improved within 7 days. Fast Forward... That was almost a year ago. I've continued to practice yoga at least 4 times a week since then, and I've subscribed to Yoga with Adriene's "Find What Feels Good" App, which I couldn't recommend more. I feel stronger, calmer and fitter than ever. If I can do it...so can you!
